Neuropathology is the study of diseases of
the nervous system, focusing on the structural and functional changes in the
brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nervous system caused by various conditions,
including injury, infection, genetic mutations, and neurodegenerative processes.
Neuropathologists examine tissue samples (from biopsies, surgeries, or
autopsies) to identify the underlying causes of neurological diseases and help
inform clinical decisions.
